Production has ended and we are thrilled with our first movie in Hallmark Channel’s Godwink Movie Series!

A Godwink Christmas is inspired by the true love story of Gery and Paula Conover, owners of the beautiful Charlotte Inn on Martha’s Vineyard. As written in our book, Godwink Christmas Stories, released October 23^rd their charming story is reminiscent of the classic romance movies we once saw starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn.

Here’s a synopsis:

As Christmas approaches, Paula (Kimberley Sustad), a St. Louis antique appraiser, reluctantly accepts a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Daniel (Giles Panton, Chesapeake Shores) a career-driven attorney. When her Aunt Jane (Kathie Lee Gifford) senses she has mixed emotions over the engagement, she invites Paula to her home on Nantucket. Among her plans, Aunt Jane sets up an antiquing trip to the nearby island of Martha's Vineyard. At the last moment, Jane gets a call preventing her from going, but insists that Paula go without her. Godwinks of weather and divine alignment lead Paula to meeting Gery Conover (Paul Campbell), owner of the charming Charlotte Inn on the Vineyard.

The Godwink of foggy weather repeats itself, preventing Paula from departing, so she winds up staying at Gery's inn and enjoying local holiday festivities alongside him. They begin to have feelings for each other. She’s drawn to Gery’s values for the tradition of holidays and family history. The weather clears, sending Paula back to Nantucket before her return to St. Louis. Sensing Paula has fallen for Gery, Aunt Jane shares her belief that their meeting was God's way of "winking" at her to help determine which direction her life should take. Paula tells Jane that her mom used to talk about Godwinks.

Things get sticky when Daniel suddenly shows up at their door in Nantucket motivating Paula to maintain their marriage plans. But days later, in St. Louis, Daniel is back to all-business all-the-time. Paula finally realizes they are not compatible and returns the ring.

When Aunt Jane implores her to return to Nantucket for Christmas, Paula accepts, unaware that Jane has devised a delightfully devious plan to bring her and Gery together again.
