I have heard God’s voice many times, including the time I struck a deer that had crossed my car’s path at night. I lost control of the car after 3 attempts to keep from rolling. I remember placing my hands calmly on the wheel, closing my eyes, and praying, “God, take me where I need to go.” I calmly kept my eyes closed and kept waiting for the car to roll. When the motion stopped, I waited before opening my eyes. My car was almost to the top of a heavily slanted hill on the opposite side of the road; I have no memory from the moment I closed my eyes to when the motion stopped. I felt my body and it appeared I was unharmed. I found my phone and called 911. The police arrived, helped me out of the car, and after examining the road, the police told me that my car had done a 360 in the middle of the road and then ran up on the side of the hill. They said it was a miracle that the car didn’t flip and that I was unharmed. My car was damaged, but miraculously salvageable. They never did find the deer. Since then, I pay attention to “Godwinks” when they present themselves.
