GODWINKS ARE LIKE LOVE LETTERS

GODWINKS ARE LIKE LOVE LETTERS

“At 15 he was my first love, my first kiss, MY BEST FRIEND.

We could sit and talk about everything; our dreams, what we believed in.

He had a sixth sense and always knew when I felt sad.

On those occasions he would call me, never saying a word, but instead just play his favorite SONG for me on the PIANO.

On the very last day I spent with him … the day he passed away… I heard from the other room the keys of the piano start. It was the first and the last time he ever played for me in person.

Ten hours later he was in a car accident. That was 23 years ago.

The song is secret… special… so I won’t share the title. But it was released in the 70s and whenever it comes on the radio or in the grocery store, it stops me in my tracks.

Later on, I fell in love again.

The first thing that came to mind about this man is that he makes me feel SAFE. He feels like HOME. He’s my best friend.

Within the first couple months of our meeting, we were at a friend's home.

For whatever reason he got up from the table and walked to the PIANO. I had no idea he even knew how to play.

As his fingers touched the first few keys, MY HEART FROZE.

This man … with whom I was already falling in love … played that VERY SONG… my old familiar song! My eyes welled with tears.

I can't put the feelings into words … like I was right where I was supposed to be.

It was God's wink assuring me that not everything I love will go away. And it’s never too late to find your SAFE PLACE... home."

How wonderful to know that God does ‘wink’ at us and lets us know that He cares and He’s delighted to play a tune just for us.
