“I’ve always loved shoes, shoes and shoes. But… I also love my aprons.

Some friends joke that I must have separate closets just for shoes and aprons.

One Christmas, I was given aprons from two dear friends. One was the cutest pink and white striped apron with a perfect quote embroidered on the front bib. It said, ‘Will cook for shoes. Lots and Lots of shoes!’

The only trouble was, the apron felt a little too short.

The second apron was black with white polka dots, with white piping along the bottom. It was way cute and fit perfectly.

The following December while driving to church just before Christmas, my mind flashed back to those two aprons. I’d enjoyed them for an entire year.

I had a silly fantasy.

‘Wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could put the two aprons together? I’d take the black and white apron with the piping and meld it with the pink and white one, adding the funny quote about shoes’.

Then, as quickly as the thought entered my mind, it vanished.

At church my friend MarLynn handed me a small bag. ‘This is from me and Mom. Merry Christmas!’

When I reached into the package I was overwhelmed!

It was a black apron with hot pink piping and the words ‘Will cook for shoes!’ embroidered on the front bib!”

My friend had no idea that I’d been daydreaming about combining my pink and black aprons, yet… here I was, holding my fantasy in my hands! Including the quote about shoes!”

That, my friends, is a Godwink!”
